Description: Contains correspondence of the Chairman of the Dept. of Sociology and its predecessor the Dept. of Sociology and Anthropology documenting staff and budget issues, curriculum development, the masters program, student affairs, and the physical environment of the department. The collection also includes various department minutes documenting the development of introductory sociology classes; staffing issues by the executive committee; matters of policy and standards by the joint conference committee, including tenure appointments; and overall department issues discussed during department meetings. Three final reports of grant papers written by sociology faculty members are also found within the collection. Finding aid available in the Archives.
